Willian admits Chelsea are yet to tap him about a new contract.
The 29-year-old has revealed his hope is to remain with the Blues – even if that means he is on the sidelines patiently waiting for the nod.
Willian told Globo Esporte: “As my father always said, ‘You have to kill one lion a day’ – this is happening to me during this time.
“I always try to keep working and knowing where I always wanted to play, which is here at Chelsea, even being on the bench.”
He added: “Staying here for many more years and if it’s possible to renew my contract. About this, we have not talked yet.
“It might happen – I’m adapted [to the club] – I’ve been here five years at the end of the season, I’ve won titles.
“I have the fans affection too. I intend to continue here until the end of my contract, to renew, to continue for more years.”
