Real MadridEx-Real Madrid GM Valdano slams Man Utd target Bale: He’s not worth €100M
Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano has taken aim at Gareth Bale – and his valuation.
It’s been suggested Real president Florentino Perez is prepared to sell Bale this summer, insisting €100m was the right price.
Manchester United and former club Tottenham have both been in contact, but Valdano says Perez needs to get real about Bale’s price.
“Nothing that Bale does is worth 100 million and it is the number on his shirt,” rapped the Argentine.
However, Valdano believes Antoine Griezmann’s buyout clause in his Atletico Madrid contract is cheap.
He also told Onda Cero: “Griezmann is the best striker, a good midfielder and contributes a lot in defence, for this market he is a cheap player.”

PSV Eindhoven chief Toon Gerbrands has confirmed contact from Everton for sports director Marcel Brands.
Everton owner Farsad Moshiri wants to add Brands to the Goodison Park front office to work with technical director Steve Walsh.
Gerbrands told FOX Sports: “The relationship that we have within the club is when anyone is asked by a club, it is immediately shared. Even if the answer is ‘no’. That is to prevent all kinds of rumours and other difficult things.
“Marcel has been called several times in recent years, there is sometimes a bit out, but he is just a popular technical director abroad.
“In general, these were English clubs. He keeps me informed. Everton has recently reported to him, we can be brief about that. But even twice before, I believe a year ago or half a year ago and then it did not go through twice.”
