Chelsea chiefs are encouraging Real Madrid to firm up their interest in Antonio Conte.
Conte is on the radar of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez as he seeks to replace Zinedine Zidane following his resignation a fortnight ago.
Florentino has already made contact with Conte’s minders, though has been told his priority remains being committed to his Blues deal.
However, the Telegraph says the Italian faces the threat of having to wait even longer to discover his future while Real Madrid search for a new manager.
Chelsea have delayed the decision on whether to sack Conte as they are reluctant to pay the Italian compensation fees of £9 million. There would be no compensation if Conte walked straight into another job.
And the Blues are pushing Florentino to firm up their interest in the Italian so to clear him off their books.
