Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is backing their move for Chelsea ace Eden Hazard.
Real are closing on a £100m-plus deal for the Belgium captain.
Calderon told Sky Sports: “It seems that Hazard is coming and that’s good news for Real Madrid. I think it’s just a question of money. The player has clearly said he wants to leave and wants a new challenge.
“It’s not fair to keep a player who has been there for seven years and has only one year remaining on his contract. Of course, Chelsea is not renowned for being easy negotiators. I know this because in 2007 I had long discussions with Peter Kenyon at the time and Roman Abramovich for Arjen Robben.”
